Initiatives in Kalotaszeg include the works of the Sztánai Workshop (Albert Fekete, Barnabás Szakács, 2001), the Jékely Literary Garden (Anna Eplényi, Gergely Kardeván-Lapis, 2014) that takes place in the churchyard in Magyarvalkó, as well as the six annual Playground Construction kalákas and folk art camps in Nyárszó and Sárvár (Balázs Balogh, Ágnes Fülemile, Sándor Herpai, Barnabás Szakács, 2006–2011, supported by the NKA) in which landscape architects, ethnographers, civil engineers and volunteers conduct town planning activities together with local craftsmen and communities.
